About PENSA
The Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition Society of Asia (PENSA) is a platform for Asian health care professionals - physicians, surgeons, intensivists, nurses, pharmacists and dietitians- working in nutritional support. The Society was founded on 6th May 1995 at a meeting in Chiang Rai, Thailand, with interested parties from Japan, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Pakistan, India and Thailand.
The objective was to provide a forum in which professionals practicing nutritional support could address and exchange clinical experiences and scientific data in nutritional sciences that are unique to this region. Since that time the Society has experienced great growth.
The Goals of PENSA are:
- To foster research and development in nutritional support in Asian Countries
- To provide a forum to address and exchange clinical experiences and scientific data in nutritional support, oriented at improvement in overall patient care
- To propagate, by means of providing education, the awareness of physicians in the importance of nutritional support in hospitalized patients
- To create good relationships between international nutritional societies
- To carry out activities related to promoting optimal nutritional support for the hospitalized patients through education
ABOUT PENSA CONGRESSES
The Congresses of PENSA are special academic meetings for people practicing nutritional support. The 13th PENSA Congress will be hosted by The Parenteral & Enteral Nutrition Society of Malaysia (PENSMA) from 4 - 7 June 2009.
